Never mind Sarah Palin and Lou Dobbs. Would you believe that some folks in the GOP are actually talking about running Dick Cheney for President in 2012?
“Why? Because Cheney is a man of conviction, has a record on which he can be judged, and whatever the result, there could be no ambiguity about the will of the people. The best way to settle arguments is by having what we used to call full and frank exchanges about the issues, and then voting. A contest between Dick Cheney and Barack Obama would offer us a bracing referendum on competing visions,” according to an op-ed by Jon Meacham in Newsweek.
Barf! With any luck Cheney will have moved on to his just rewards by 2012. Or perhaps he will be tried as a war criminal before then?
Obama has been a mess, but do we need another President who will just start more needless wars? Aren’t we bankrupt enough already? Even China doesn’t want to buy U.S. debt anymore!
Palin, Dobbs and Cheney. The GOP’s cupboard is truly bare. But don’t take my word for it.
“When Gallup polled on the Republican race for 2012, it asked about Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Tim Pawlenty, and Haley Barbour (Huckabee won, with Romney and Palin tying for second among Republicans who were asked whom they would consider voting for),” according to Meacham, in Newsweek.
Wow. What a sad bunch of rejects. I don’t see the Republican Party winning with any of these candidates…but bringing back Cheney would be simply insane!
The GOP strategy can be summed up in one word – gimmicks (Fiorina, Whitman, etc.)
It’s way too early to start talking about GOP candidates for 2012 – unless you’re saying
TOM MCCLINTOCK IN 2012! RUN, TOM, RUN!
The only thing funnier and sadder is the inane bunch of boobs out there shouting “Al Gore in 2012!” Don’t believe me? Just google those words and see for yourself. What with Warming all real for so many people.
So you see Art, trying to goade people into voting Democrat isn’t any more serious a prospect. Maybe if people had a real choice, that would be something.
Dobbs, by the way, is talking about running Independent. Just thought you might want to know who’s likely to be on the middle ticket down the line, and where that leaves you. First, he’ll run in Jersey, where he lives. Then who knows?
It will be fun to watch a REAL INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE and what you say about that! I may not vote for him but it will make you squirm!
CMON SHERRIFF JOE AND LOU NOW THATS A GREAT TICKET .
