There will be no exit polls tonight from Massachusetts, disappointing journalists and political scientists alike. As Mike Allen of Politico.com reports, the consortium of news outlets that normally organizes such surveys didn’t bother when the race was expected to be a blowout and now “wasn’t confident a reliable system could be built so fast,” according to the Wall St. Journal.
“Four of the five latest polls, all completed Sunday, show Republican Scott Brown leading Democrat Martha Coakley in today’s election for the open Massachusetts Senate seat.,” acording to Newsmax.
Is Coakley done? Hard to say, but her recent gaffe, where she called retired Boston Red Sox World Serics Hero Curt Schilling a “Yankee” fan illustrates how far she has fallen.
Let’s put it this way – a Coakley loss, at this point, would not be much of a surprise.
Rasmussen is supposed to be running exit polls at their own expense — per Rush this a.m.
