Assemblyman Chris Norby, who just recently took over for Mike Duvall over in the 72nd Assembly District, has selected Freydel Bushala as his 2010 “Woman of the Year.”
Bushala received the award from Mr. Norby today, at the Capitol in Sacramento. She was chosen from a select group of talented individuals because of her drive and ambition as a business owner, mother, involved community member and so much more.
Here are a few details about Bushala, courtesy of Farmers Insurance Group, which she serves as an insurance and financial servies agent:
Born in Managua Nicaragua on March 11, Bushala immigrated to the United States at a very young age. When she arrived she set her sights high from the beginning. She was hired as a CSR in the office of Farmers agent Tom Molloy of Las Vegas in 1987.
Shortly thereafter she began her work with another outstanding agent, Rick Schnieder. It was while working for Rick that Freydel set her mind on owning a Farmers agency herself one day.
In late 1988, she decided to move to California to work as an Agency Producer with yet another great agent, Tony Romero. Freydel took all that she had learned from these Farmers agents, and signed on as a career agent in District 55 with Mike Crawley in June 2001. She is among the top producing agents within the District and is currently mentoring another new agent. Freydel is truly Farmers Family!
Freydel resides in Fullerton and is raising three teenage boys, Dylan 18, Kalil 16, and George 14. As if this were not enough, Freydel is an active participant in her boy’s activities, volunteering as a Fullerton Pop Warner Board Member, chairing the Civil War Reenactment for St Catherine’s Military School , Coordinating Dances for Sunny Hills High School , and assisting the Football
Booster Club as Vice President.
Freydel is obviously very well deserving of being named “Woman of The Year”!

congratulations, Freydel
It is refreshing to see a woman who truly personifies self-determination, family and work ethics during our nanny state era
Anyone married to Tony Bushala should be named Woman of the Century. Better make that two – the Twentieth and the Twenty-first.
Good woman, good choice.
