The noose around Carona is tightening
The Times is reporting today that Michael Schroeder has been subpoenaed by the state attorney general’s office “calling him as a witness in a criminal case against one of Carona’s captains.” Schroeder, predictably, doesn’t want to take the stand.
The case in question involves “Capt. Christine Murray, who is charged with illegally soliciting campaign contributions for the sheriff.” I find it hard to believe that Schroeder did not know about these solicitations. I wonder why Jon Fleischman hasn’t been subpoenaed as well?
I can’t figure out why Schroeder or Fleischman are still advising Carona. It should be obvious to all parties that the Sheriff is, like the Titanic, taking on water and sinking rapidly.
