I guess that makes better sense to people whose first thought when they hear the word “socialism” is “tyranny” or “dictatorship” rather than “the people trying to improve the economy thru their government” but I get your meaning.

If social conservatives try to dictate people’s habits and personal lives throught government legislation, then these types are hypocritical when they try to claim the mantle of “limited government.”Nevermind the labels, it’s all about power and control.
News flash. Words have specific meanings. Socialist refers to someone on the extreme left. Fascist refers to someone on the extreme right. While they both refer to an authoritarian approach, they are hardly the same thing.
