Democrats are starting to get nervous. Sure, Jerry Brown is up by six points, but Meg Whitman is spending money like a drunken sailor.
“Political observers say Brown’s strategy is risky, and familiar. In the Republican primary, Whitman began advertising months before her opponent, state Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner, essentially defining him to voters. He insisted that he’d successfully make his pitch closer to the election. But he never caught up, losing by nearly 38 points,” according to the L.A. Times.
Imagine if Whitman and her fellow GOP candidate Carly Fiorina prevail in November?
Our legislative districts are going to be redistricted in the not so distant future. And there is no telling what Prop. 14 will do to our elections.
Will the Democrats wake up in time?
Did you ever think that you would see Whitman advertising in Spanish while Brown forgets to reach out to Latinos?
I am no Whitman fan, but I still can’t believe that the best the Democrats could come up with was Jerry Brown…
As if he has the option of spending $100M on ads…
A lot of the whining about his lack of spending is coming from Democratic consultants, who stand to benefit when a candidate spends money. Consider the source.
