Allan Mansoor was all alone, and uncomfortable, at this year’s Tet Parade, in Little Saigon
I wrote a post back in February wondering if OC Board of Education Trustee Long Pham could beat Costa Mesa Mayor Allan Mansoor in the GOP primary for the 68th Assembly District.
Well, Pham didn’t campaign much but he did get over 30% of the vote.
Now veteran political analyst Allan Hoffenblum, who publishes the California Target Book, is saying that there is a good chance that Democratic candidate Phu Nguyen could beat Mansoor in the November general election, according to the O.C. Register.
In my February post I referenced these district demographics:
The 68th A.D. consists of 14.88% of Orange County, including all of Costa Mesa and Fountain Valley, and 10.08% of Anaheim, 64.92% of Garden Grove, 10.17% of Newport Beach, 82.98% of Stanton, and 69.30% Westminster.
Costa Mesa has 108,724 voters. The part of Garden Grove in the district has 107,239 voters. The portion of Fountain Valley in the district has 54,978 voters. And the Westminster area has 61,129 voters.
And to make matters worse for Mansoor, a look at his endorsements reveals NO Viet supporters. Ruh roh! Will the Viet voters who supported Pham in the primary turn on Mansoor and vote for Phu Nguyen now?
And Nguyen also has an entire website in Spanish, at this link. Do you think very many Latinos will be voting for the Mexican-basher Mansoor? I don’t think so…
It should be noted that Mansoor is a government worker, who is either on leave or retired (not sure) from his real job as a prison guard. Nguyen is a business owner and a family man.
