My son James, who is 14 years old, just joined the Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) at Godinez High School on Friday! I am so proud of him!
Click here to see the SAUSD’s NJROTC page on their website.
The NJROTC’s mission is to instill in students in United States secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment.

Congratulations Art! What a Dad.
Vern,
Thanks my friend. I give all the credit to my wife and to my son. I just try not to get in the way!
You are almost American Art.
Now, stop waving Mexican flag and calling Americans haters and racists!
Hopefully, your boy will serve to protect southern border 4 years from now, so we would not need the Minutemen.
Art,
Congratulations on your son’s active participation with the NJROTC.
We need more young men that are instilled with proper values and that are focused on serving our community, i.e. as you have done with your son James at home.
You and your family have lots to feel and be proud about.
sincerely,
Francisco J. Barragan
Commander
UMAVA (United Mexican-American Veterans Association)

VMI! Wow. Congrats to the young man and his family. I got that picture from the NJROTC page on the SAUSD website, which is mostly pictures of cadets from Santa Ana High.
The NJROTC program at Godinez is new. Hope to have pictures in a few months!
My moms was in JROTC in high school. Pops is a Vietnam veteran…
Gabriel,
Few of the haters in the OC know how much our people have contributed to the U.S. military…
I commend your parents for their service!
*Congratulations to that 14 year old NROTC inductee. Ron was an NROTC member at
USC…..sadly….he never got his Naval Aviator Wings…..but did get his American Spirit
Medal with the US Army. That NROTC training was important in that process..by the way.
