You knew it was coming! Democratic Supervisorial candidate Hoa Van Tran got slammed in a new mailer by Supervisor Janet Nguyen for his cholo connections (see graphic above). I saw this one coming! The Democratic Party of Orange County has one chance to fix this mess on Tuesday, at their emergency Central Committee meeting. But I have a feeling they are going to fumble the ball. Too many of their crazies want Van Tran to keep his party’s endorsement.
Van Tran is singlehandedly ruining his party’s reputation. And I hear that it is Senator Lou Correa’s fault that the DPOC did not take away his endorsement at their meeting last week. You blew it Lou! You blew it Lou! You should have let your party take Van Tran and his cholo campaign manager Edgardo Reynoso out. Now they are going to take your party down.
I am told that Correa is worried that removing the DPOC endorsement from Correa will hurt him in the local Vietnamese communtiy. Too bad! For once Correa needs to put his party ahead of his own career. Van Tran and Reynoso need to get the heave-ho!

I still don’t understand why DPOC is being so stubborn when the race is non-partisan. It seems like a stupid reason to shoot yourself in the foot.

It was everybody’s guess that this hit piece was coming out so I guess that means that over at the Hoa camp they have already designed the mailer to counteract this. I wonder what it looks like? I’d go with the friend to troubled youth angle.
Unfortunately my confidence in the Hoa campaign is so low that I’m guessing we wont see that response tomorrow in the walk packets or in the mailroom.
I’ll bet they’re burning up the phonelines calling the DPOC though.
