My understanding is that Dina was offered the award but asked Van to chose another person. You have to understand that within some Asian cultures humility is lauded and Dina is respecting her culture. Congratulations to both Dina and Lucile. You are both winners in my book! These are two women who both love deserve the honor and I’m sure Dina will be the winner next year after her election victory! God Bless America!
With that picture the choice is obvious; Dina is my next Supervisor. Go girl.
Since Dina is also a Republican does that mean that the OC GOP and Lincoln Club will be sitting this one out? Seems like it’s hard to pick between two current GOP elected leaders. I guess it doesn’t much matter now anyway since there is no serious Dem candidate. I imagine the OC GOP will be spending $$$ and giving endorsements in races with a contested GOP/DEM contest.

Good question. I hear that quite a few local Democrats are thinking of endorsing Supervisor Nguyen. She already has dozens of endorsements on the GOP side.
As for Dina, a friend of mine saw her on Friday at the Voter Registrar’s office. Apparently she looks a lot different from her photo. My friend said she looked to be in her fifties. That sounds rather brutal. At any rate, she was completely lost. Andy Quach ended up filing her forms…she had no clue whatsoever. That does not bode well.
If the Rep.’s see the Dem’s flocking to a more liberal Janet then maybe she will have trouble getting support from Republicans. I’m sure the New Majority will support her if not main line Rep’s.
