Most folks seem to be convinced that disgraced former Assemblyman Mike Duvall was having an affair with Heidi DeJong Barsuglia. You are probably wondering who she is and what she looks like. The picture above can be found on her entry at the California Secretary of State’s lobbyist database.
She works for Sempra Energy and previously worked for the California Retailers Association. Her current job is a real problem as Duvall was the chair of a Utilities Commission in the Assembly.
I feel bad for Barsuglia, but she is an adult and presumably knew what she was doing. It is sad that lobbyists have to resort to such tactics. Duvall is such a disgusting pig!

Heidi DeJong Barsuglia joined the California Retailers Association in June 2004 as Director of Government Affairs. In this position, she focuses on issues of importance to the CRA’s Chain Drug and Grocery Store members, including Medi-Cal pharmacy reimbursement, product recycling, workers’ compensation, and precursor regulations. Prior to joining the Retailers in 2004, Ms. Barsuglia acted as legal and legislative consultant to Democratic members of the California legislature.
Ms. Barsuglia has over 6 years of legislative experience and 4 years experience in the employment law field. Ms. Barsuglia was an employment law attorney with the law firm of Booth & Finch in Sacramento. While working in the employment law arena, Ms. Barsuglia authored an appellate brief to the California Supreme Court, resulting in legal precedent. Prior to law school, Ms. Barsuglia worked as Legislative Aide to then-Assemblyman Charles Poochigian and to the Assembly Appropriations Committee. While attending college, Ms. Barsuglia worked as a speechwriter for Governor Pete Wilson’s Office of Constituent Affairs.
Ms. Barsuglia graduated cum laude from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts degree combining a double major in Political Science and Persuasive Communications. She graduated with honors from University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law with a Juris Doctor.

I feel bad for any cute girl who has to sleep with an ugly guy like Duvall to make a buck. Then again, how do we know it wasn’t love?
All I am thinking is about her “eye patch underwear”.
Too bad that a few politicians (like rotten apples) spoil the political process. They get elected to serve their constituents, but ultimately serve their own self interests. It is a slip-up like an open microphone that catches a guy like Duval. But, I wonder just how many of our politicians aren’t caught. The public can’t trust anyone who is a politician. Why should we? These politicians call others across the aisle liars, when they are the biggest offenders. Some say it is only human. I say why vote at all. You vote for someone to represent the interests of the majority of people in your community or district and they egnor the feedback they get on issues because they have their own agenda “self indulgence.” As a matter of fact, why am I submitting a comment. What is going to change in our politics without ‘truthful’ leadership. It is a sorry state of affairs for the State of California. Politicians, Democrats or Republicans, can’t agree on anything because they do not listen to each other. They’d rather share intimate sexual details about their lives, instead of discussing important legislation in front of them.

I find it odd that he never mentions any names yet, only one lady’s name is released. I wander if someone jealous just threw out her name to sink her. How did they get and release one ladys name when the recorded conversation never mentions names????
When this is investigated if she is innocent i hope society and the media who condemnd her so quickly apologizes as loudly as the condemnd her. If she’s found to be guilty, shame shame shame………
This reminds me of when my buddies and I (Chuck, Dave and Jim) met some high school chicks at a Subway restaurant in San Diego. I had my way with one of the girls at a park while my friends watched. I banged her like a Salvation Army drum! This was years ago. I wonder if she grew up and became a lobbyist!?!?

In his bragging, Duvall gave enough information about her (her birthday, her age) that it was easy to figure out who he was talking about just by looking in the lobbyists’ directory.

I used to say “young and dumb” but now it’s “old and stupid”! Apparently it’s OK to kick California in the gut by our lame politicians in a time when we need them most. Shame…Shame on the arrogant Duvall for getting caught and misrepresenting his post. His only regret is getting caught and being a total dumb ass for not knowing the microphone was on. If he had clicked the mike to the OFF position, I would not be sending this e-mail and I would be referencing ANOTHER dumb ass politician that is all about a thing and doing wrong. I wish his wife and children all the best and hope that Duvall gets help!
haha another GREAT example that old people will never get technology right… defeated by a microphone that you KNOW is there!?!… this would never have happened to a young red. Also Mookie is right. Never feel sorry for this girl! She knew what she was doing and she probably only got there because she was willing to do it before. Take just 20 seconds and imagine how many shadey things go on in politics, that we know of……. now take 60 more seconds and imagine how many go on that we will never hear about… now weep uncontrollably.
You have to ask two qustions about Heidi Dejong Barsuglia. What did she have to gain and what did she have lose. Taking the second question; she would probably lose her husband, devastate her family and children, lose all possibility for employment, and lastly could do prison time for bribing an assemblyman. Now what did she have to gain; Duvall’s vote, no he voted 100% with the Republicans no need to buy his vote, money no bribery goes toward the politician not to the lobbyist, an appointment to a government position, no she take a very large cut in pay, a great night with a stud, hell no Duvall is a fat, gross old man. So what exactly did she have to gain by sleeping with this man?

Don’t cry too many tears for Heidi, somehow I don’t think Duvall exactly dragged her kicking and screaming into bed. And now Duvall’s in deep shit and his mistress will most likely cash in with a lucrative book deal. In a perfect world the little homewrecker, would instead be shown what a no nonsense disciplinary spanking is all about. 🙂
