Wow! No wonder the SAUSD can’t afford to pay their teachers…

And here is the SAEA’s latest call to action:

SAEA has worked diligently to show School Board members that the District has more than enough money to restore the 1.5% pay cut imposed on teachers, rescind all remaining RIF teachers and provide teachers with needed supplies.  During October, SAEA met individually with School Board members and District Administration.  Additionally, we have made presentations at School Board meetings and our conclusions were reviewed by the Orange County Department of Education and found to be “accurate.”  Click on the link Email to School Board members to read the email I sent to School Board members during the weekend. Multi Year Projection tableExpenditures Table.

Furthermore, at yesterday’s Budget Special Study Session, the District and School Board members openly discussed pay-cuts and furlough days for 2010-11.

Take Action Now!

The School Board members will be making important Budget decisions on November 10th.  They need to hear from teachers on how the unnecessary personnel and program cuts have affected you, both professionally and personally.

Our message must be loud and clear:

  •
    • You have the money to restore the 1.5% pay cut
    • No more pay cuts or furlough days
    • You have the money to provide teachers with needed classroom supplies
    • You have the money to rescind RIF teachers and restore Class Size reduction in 3rd grade.

School Board members need to understand what is happening in your classroom: the money you have spent on supplies; the number of students in your class, unavailability of trained subs; etc.

SAEA’s goal is to have at least 300 teachers email School Board members.  Please take the time to send each School Board member an email before November 10th and send me a copy so I can keep count.

Rob Richardson:             rob.richardson@earthlink.net
Audri Yamagata-Noji:       AYamagata-Noji@mtsac.edu
John Palacio:                jpalacio@pacbell.net
Roman Reyna:                roman_a_reyna@hotmail.com

Together we can change what is happening at your site and in your classroom!

Thanks for your help and support!

Susan Mercer
President, SAEA

Don’t forget to add this, Art…
Perks would include the superintendents, who receive:

    * a $600 monthly travel allowance
    * $792 tax shelter annuity per month
    * and a life insurance policy of $500,000.

You could also add the car the superintendent drives home on district gas/insurance along with the school police chief and all of the motorcycle cops no matter what city or county they live in.

Many of you had your doubts about Susan. I think she is proving that she is willing to take on the district and she has the budget sense to find the actual numbers. I hope more people participate in the e-mail campaigns to board members and district personnel. We have already seen at least 3 major changes since these e-mails began.

    Teacher Shaking Head says:

Right on. I am going to participate and support Susan for sure. I don’t have “any” doubts about her. Time to start writing.

The current superintendent DOES NOT hold a Ph.D. and we’re paying her over $240K annually? WOW…. is that why Noji and her follow board members did not search for a Ph.D. candidate to replace the former super? Too much dinero?

Wall Street has nothn’ on SAUSD.

E-mail campaign to the school board members personal e-mail addresses? NO. It isn’t prudent to invade their personal space. Which begs the question – Why aren’t SAUSD school board members accessible by district paid e-mails? Think about it.

The public needs to overload the school board members with mail. Send correspondence to district headquarters at:
1601 E. Chestnut Ave., Santa Ana, CA 929701-6322.

Do not give these despicable folks any opportunity to silence the public by claiming we (public) are invading their personal space.

They are elected officials and cannot ignore correspondence that is mailed to district HQ.

    Kick the bumbs out!!!!!

Aahh moment. Don’t be fooled. Noji, Richardson & Hernandez are clever and crafty. They don’t have an SAUSD e-mail address because the little folk could file a Public Records request. They use their private e-mail address because the public cannot file a Public Records request on their private e-mail address.

Bottom line: they don’t want us to know the shenanigans they’re up to.

Another reason to kick these bumbs to the curb!

Can we put money together to buy a few billboards in Santa Ana where this can be posted and also show the public where they get?

Example: posted administration salaries = reduced class sizes, laid off teachers, cut programs

I can’t believe the district is playing poor. How disgraceful to be paid so much and have so little in return for our investment.

Billboards are a good idea, too bad it’s so much money.

A guerilla campaign needs to be launched.

    Teacher Shaking Head says:

Why are we allowing these leaders to do this? They continue to give themselves raises, add $4M more to their own budgets then lay off people & crowd classrooms. It is time that we demand “new leadership” at the district office. Until we do this, they are NOT going to take anything seriously. When they see that the entire district wants them out of there, ONLY THEN will things change.

You forgot to list the overstuffed salaries given to their secretaries.

Here’s a picture of Jane Russo’s Car while she drives around looking ecstatically happy that she makes so much money. Please note: Rob Richardson is in the car with her. He is one of the Board Members who approves her salary. She allegedly doesn’t even hold a doctorate. Why does she make so much money? Who else approved this salary? Things that make you go hmmm.

Here’s a larger version of Jane Russo and Rob Richardson in the SAUSD Mercedes. How can she live with herself while she is cutting the hours of classified and crowding classrooms?????

The other lady in the photo used to be a board member, but has moved on.

The current Superintendent is in place because of Dr. Noji’s behind the scenes orchestation to put in place her new found puppet. Most folks don’t know or have forgotten the current Super was “released” from SAUSD at one time.

In fact, the entire selection process was more than likely tainted by Noji placing another one of her puppets on the community panel to interview the candidates. Noji’s community rep wrote and submitted a letter of recommendation that candidate Russo included in her application. At no time was this fact disclosed to the community panel. Stacking the deck in the current Superintendent’s favor?

Connect the dots and you will more than likely come to the conclusion that collusion might have been a factor in Noji, Richardson & Hernandez’s lobbying for and approval of the current Superintendent.

Noji & Richardson have racked up 30 years + of service on the SAUSD board. You only need to ask 2 questions: 1.) is the district better off? 2.) are our students better off?

We all know district staff continues to be financially rewarded for running SAUSD into the ground.

Teachers, voters, students, community members … I’ll run the district into the ground for $150K annually.

    2. Todd Butcher new construction manager got a raise after being hired for less 3 months.
