The wildfire that began in Corona is now in Yorba Linda, according to eyewitness reports. “A wildfire stoked by powerful Santa Ana winds has damaged 12 homes and charred 1,000 acres in Corona and is now moving through parts of Yorba Linda, damaging one dwelling and forcing the rapid evacuation of houses,” according to the O.C. Register.

Art,
I just left John Force’s shop in Yorba Linda and the fire was just up the hill. Homes were in grave danger and in fact we were told that some had already burned. Large aircraft dropping fire retardant were flying overhead and plenty of water dropping helicopters.
They were evacuating residents and the roads in the area were an absolute mess. Avoid the 91 Fwy at all costs.
Pray for our neighbors in Yorba Linda. It is gonna be a long and scary day for them.
My prayers for all those impacted by the lastest string of fires up and down the state.
Please be mindful of water usage and electricity. It’s going to be a long weekend for all.
Sean,
Thanks for the update!
#2,
Amen! May God look out for our neighbors in north Orange County.
This is very late in the season for this kind of wildfire. Remember the fires last year required some school closures because of the terrible air quality and particulates in the air.
These current fires seem to be particularly hot burning and aggressive. I hope we can get the rain to help like last year.
Cascade Apartments 250 unit apartment complex up in flames on Santa Ana Canyon Rd., for over 30 minutes there was not even one firefighter there. The resources are just stretched so thin. People are evacuating there cars on the 91 freeway.
Several of my daughters friends houses are in danger and have been evacuated.
All –
We’re smack in the middle of fire season. Everyone should be mindful the Santa Anas don’t subscribe to mandated schedules as RV seems to believe. Nature always has a way of reminding us that there’s a force more powerful than we mere mortals.
A couple of decades ago, us California natives remember when the wildfires were doused well before mid-November. Many places on earth are getting warmer and drier than ever before.
Even the wettest place on earth is getting warmer and drier.
My friends parents house burned down to the ground at 10:30 am they were told the fire probably would not reach them. At 12:20 pm they were told to leave and not take anything their home is gone. They keep showing their house burn to the ground on the channel 4 news.
Yeah Ok,
That sucks. I’m sorry.
So much loss its really so sad for everyone. Any juice reader affected I’m really sorry you are all in our prayers!
How pathetic is the Yorba Linda City Council and Water District? No water pressure! Broken valves? Are kidding me? Yorba Linda needs to let the citizens of this great city know what happened, why there were no alerts and why Brea can post evacuation information on their website but Yorba Linda posted no evacuation information. This city’s leadership is pathetic. End the Good Ol’ Boys Club!
